Project
Oil And Gas Pumping Station Tal Adass
Oil and gas pumping station, Tal Adass
About this project
The pumping station at Tal Adass is part of an oil and gas transmission system, and Almafor delivered its automation and control scope. It is the earliest project in our record and the only one outside the UAE.
Pipeline pumping stations share the characteristics that define most of our later work. The plant runs continuously, it sits away from the people who operate the network, and a fault that is not reported is a fault nobody knows about until its consequences arrive downstream.
The requirements that follow are the same ones we design to today: local control that keeps running when the link outward does not, instrumentation that measures what the operators actually need to decide with rather than everything the equipment can produce, and a supervisory layer that presents a station somebody can operate without being trained on it twice.
The project is kept in the record because it is where the pattern starts. The equipment has changed considerably since. What a remote station has to do has not.
