About Almafor

Most of what we are asked to do is on plant that is already running. The engineering question is rarely what to install. It is how to install it without taking the asset out of service.

Most of our work sits on assets already in service: transmission and distribution stations under load, pumping networks feeding district irrigation, potable water pipelines, and the buildings around them. That is a different discipline from a greenfield installation. The design has to survive being built in pieces, inside outage windows somebody else controls, alongside a system that has to keep working until the moment it is replaced.

We are a Schneider Electric recognised system integrator, an authorised solution provider for GE Vernova Proficy software services, and a PcVue certified partner. The company holds ISO 9001:2015 for quality, ISO 45001:2018 for occupational health and safety, and ISO 14001:2015 for environmental management, each covering the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of automation and control systems and electrical and electromechanical works.

Almafor is a registered supplier on the Abu Dhabi utility and government procurement systems the work comes through, and our engineers hold individual competency approvals with the transmission utility, renewed on the utility's own schedule rather than ours. On a live grid station that is not a formality. It is what decides who is allowed on site.

The company works from two premises. The head office is on Khalifa Bin Zayed The First Street in Abu Dhabi. The panel workshop is in Mussafah, which is where the motor control centres, VFD, ICA, RTU and PLC panels are built and factory tested before anything reaches site.
