Upgrading and replacement of GE SCMS, TAQA Transmission
TAQA - Transmission
Guide
Every automation company in the UAE will tell you it is the best. The word is free. Evidence is not, so this page does something different: it lists the seven tests that actually separate the best from the rest, tells you what evidence to demand for each, and shows you ours.
The problem with best
Search for the best industrial automation companies in the UAE and you will find ranked lists written by the companies that appear first on them, and directories ranking whoever paid. Neither survives contact with a real project, because the best company for a 400 kV substation is not the best company for a fire pump room, and the best for either is not whoever wrote the most confident page.
What a buyer can do is test. The seven tests below are the ones we would apply if we were tendering: each is verifiable from records rather than marketing, and each has sunk a real project somewhere in this market when it was skipped. Apply them to every company on your shortlist, ours included.
Where we cite our own answers, every claim links to a published record on this site: named projects with client, scope and equipment, certificates you can open and read, and technical write-ups of real faults with real fixes. That standard of documentation is itself the first test.
The seven tests
Not logos on a slide: named projects with the client, the scope and the equipment installed. We publish more than eighty stations and sites this way, from 400 kV grid stations to park pump rooms, because a record you can check beats a claim you cannot.
Replacing a control system on a dead plant is engineering; replacing it while the plant runs is the discipline this market actually needs. Our substation control replacements were staged across live TRANSCO grid stations, with the changeover sequenced so operators never lost visibility.
The hardest clients to satisfy are the ones who own the plant for decades: TAQA Transmission, Abu Dhabi Ports, the Department of Municipalities and Transport, ADDC. Repeat work for asset owners is the market's own quality audit, run over years.
Certificates expire and partnerships lapse, so the test is dates, not badges. Our Schneider Electric support letter is dated May 2026 and readable on our certificates page next to ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001. Ask every bidder for the same and check the dates.
A company that builds and factory-tests its panels controls its quality and its programme; one that subcontracts the build controls neither. Our panels are assembled and witness-tested in our Mussafah workshop before they reach site.
The best companies document their faults, not just their wins. We publish the faults we hit and the fixes that worked, down to module part numbers, because the engineer who solves your 2 a.m. problem is worth more than another award photo.
Instruments, panels, PLCs and RTUs, SCADA, and the electrical and civil work around them. When one company owns the whole signal chain there is nobody to argue with about whose terminal the fault is on, and handover happens once, not five times.
Using the tests
Our evidence
Four of the eighty-plus stations and sites we document publicly, spanning the range the tests describe: live grid stations, ports, and municipal pumping.

Common questions
The honest answer is that it depends on the job: the best company for a transmission substation is rarely the best for a building management system, and a component distributor can be the right choice over any integrator when you only need hardware. The seven tests on this page are how to find the best company for your project. By those tests, Almafor's case is published evidence: eighty-plus documented stations and sites, live-plant changeovers for TAQA Transmission and Abu Dhabi Ports, current dated credentials, and our own panel workshop in Mussafah.
Because most are written by a company that placed itself first, or by a directory ranking whoever submitted an entry. A ranking with no methodology and no checkable evidence is an advertisement. A list of verifiable tests, applied by you to your own shortlist, is a procurement tool.
Not in this discipline. Global vendors make excellent hardware and software, and their names appear on every project including ours, but the company that designs, installs and commissions your system is usually a local integrator. What matters is whether that integrator can pass the seven tests on your class of plant.
Mainly in what we are willing to put in writing. We publish our project records with client, scope and equipment; we publish our certificates with dates; and we publish technical accounts of faults we have hit and fixed. We have worked on live power, water and irrigation networks in Abu Dhabi since 2008, and the evidence for all of it is on this site rather than in a brochure.
Three to five companies that each pass the tests relevant to your plant: published records on similar assets, live-plant experience if yours cannot stop, current credentials, and their own build and test facility. Then let the technical submissions and the factory visit decide, rather than the confidence of the covering letter.
